MUMIAS MP Johnston Naicca has embarked on formulation of a new CDF committee after taking over from former legislator Ben Washiali.

Washiali who hails from East Wanga was elected the MP for the newly created Mumias East.

Yesterday Naicca said he is concentrating on consultations in order to consolidate an inclusive committee that will cater for the welfare of the whole constituency.

“I want every part of the constituency to be represented because matters of the constituency cannot be handled by an individual” he said.

The first-time ODM MP said he is lobbying to have qualified individuals from all corners of the constituency so that they can steer the constituency to greater heights of development.

He pledged not to award seats to his supporters alone saying he is representing every resident of Mumias in parliament.

“I am not looking at who backed me during campaigns or one’s political affiliations. We want to have the Luo who constitutes over 10,000 the population of Mumias, the Nubians, disabled, women and the minority groups living in Mumias represented” said Naicca.

He said Mumias is bigger than one individual and called on all leaders to come together “so that we ensure that we unite and work together to lead in Kakamega county in matters of development without wrangles”.

The MP called for money from the central government saying time is of essence in getting down to work and that they cannot deliver without money.

“We want to make sure that all areas in the constituency are developed. But we cannot do this without money. The government should quickly release money so that we pick up our tasks” he said.

On top of his priority list is establishment of higher education institutions in the constituency.

He said Mumias has remained underprivileged academically because of lack of institutions that offer higher education programs.

Currently, there is no public university operating in Mumias. Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology which was said to open its doors at the Municipal hall in August last year has since gone under.

Introduction of Maasai Mara University by the E-Smart College has come as a relief to the numerous academic-thirsty residents who have flocked its offices at the MOCO premises to seek for degree courses.

First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I've had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Any ideas or tips? Kudos!
